The water in our area is hard, what that means is there is a high mineral content from calcium, magnesium, and other minerals. Hard water is nor just limited to well or city water, it depends on where your water comes from and how much minerals dissolve into the water. All though hard water is ok to drink and wash with it can lead to costly repairs, ugly stains, premature equipment and appliance failure. A water softening system is an awesome investment that will not only help your skin, hair and dishes but it will also help cut down on costly repairs with your plumbing system.
Some ways to know if you have hard water are build up on faucets, shower heads and shower doors. You will notice a white chalky residue that doesn't seem to go away. Dry skin and hair that seems brittle and frizzy. You can also have a simple water test done by Cardinal Plumbing, we can come to your home and test your water onsite to determine how hard your water is.
Our water softeners are installed where your main water comes into the home, some homes will require running water lines to the softener's locations. This ensures soft water to all of your fixtures. We will also install a shut off that can double as your main water shut off for your home. Softeners are relatively low maintenance and only require you to keep salt in them. On average a Family of 4 will use around 12- 14 bags of salt per year. Salt style softeners do add small amounts of salt to your drinking water. Here at Cardinal Plumbing we recommends a Salt style water softener, but we also have different options for customers on low sodium diets that cannot have any more salt added to their water.
We love our customers, so feel free to reach out and set up an in home consultation.
